La Rottura d'Alba è il quarto libro nella serie di Crepuscolo terrificante da Stephenie Meyer. È anche l'unico libro non scritto completamente da punto di Bella di Lei. Per tutta la durata d'Eclissi, il terzo libro nella serie, Bella chiese a Edward di cambiarla in un vampiro ma lui continuò a rinviarla. Adesso in Alba Rompente, loro hanno fatto un affare. Edward cambierà Bella in un vampiro finchè lei lo sposerà prima. Queste notizie indussero Jacob povero a lasciare la città. Bella è fuori durante alcuni giorni mentre il cambiamento sta portando il suo corpo. All through Eclipse, the third book in the series, Bella begged Edward to change her into a vampire but he kept putting her off. Now in Breaking Dawn, they’ve made a deal. Edward will change Bella into a vampire as long as she will marry him first. This news caused poor Jacob to leave town. Alice plans a lavish wedding and the whole town attends including Jacob. Words are exchanged, but Bella and Edward set off for a happily ever after honeymoon to Isle Esme. After a few weeks, Bella shockingly discovers that she is pregnant. Who knew this was even possible? The vampire/human fetus is growing rapidly inside her, so they quickly come home. Bella is deteriorating, but she is determined to sacrifice herself for this baby. Edward does not want to lose Bella and is slightly terrified of what this baby might turn out to be. Jacob comes to visit, and just the sight of Bella’s physical state is upsetting to him. As Bella’s condition worsens, as a last resort Carlisle decides the baby may be thirsty for blood. When Bella drinks the blood, her condition immediately improves. This makes everyone wonder if the half human/half vampire baby may take more after the Cullen side of the family. Eventually, Bella goes into labor but doesn’t make it. Edward quickly injects his venom and hopes that he was in time to change her into a vampire. Jacob watches in dismay. Bella is out for a few days while the change is taking over her body. Meanwhile, Rosalie is bonding with the baby who Bella names Renesmee after their mothers and Jacob imprints upon the vampire/human child. (a strange twist) When Bella wakes up, she has an amazing amount of self-control. This is unusual for newborn vampires. Edward takes her on her first hunt and is pleased with her skill. Everything seems to be going perfectly, but when one of the Alaska vampires Irina spots Renesmee in the woods she goes straight to the Volturi. Alice has a psychic vision that the Volturi will come and destroy them all so she and Jasper flee. Carlisle summons all of his vampire friends from around the world to witness Renesmee so when the Volturi come they can attest that the Volturi have not been defied. Stephenie Meyer gives Twilight fans the ending we so badly want. The Volturi see that Renesmee is not a threat, and Bella and Edward will live happily ever after.
